I do not know if what I feel for you can be called love. To truly love another is to think of them before yourself, and 400 years of survival instinct is so ingrained in me that I do not think I am capable of ever placing another before myself.
That being said, I have never cared for another as I care for you. I look in your eyes and I see myself reflected in there - both good and bad. I think that is why I understand you so well, and can be patient when you are stubborn or sullen - because I know where it comes from, and I know that were the tables turned, you would try to return the favor.
