The water was just what she needed to swallow her mouthful of pancake.
"You can stop pretending to be inept in the kitchen. You've set the bar low enough that anything not resembling a charcoal briquet will be impressive." And more so, it was not accurate. She had enjoyed the first pancake for the few seconds it actually came into contact with her taste buds.
"Wait... is this what you were doing while I was zonked out? Practicing making pancakes?" She marveled that she hadn't figured it out sooner, because she could not think of a more Steve-like thing to do. "Want me to pass out for a couple more days so you can learn how to make omelets?"
