“Hey, Red, have you seen...” Kitty didn’t get a chance to finish her sentence. Her jaw dropped open as she saw Red and Myers, each with a beer in hand, sprawled out on Red’s floor, letting the cats use them as a jungle gym.

“Kitty!” John jumped up and proceeded to trip and fall down again. Red laughed at him, and Kitty just stared. She’d never seen him like this before. He was completely the opposite of his usual self - his normally perfectly groomed hair askew, shirt half untucked, his feet covered only in socks. “We were just talking about you!”

Red nudged him with an elbow. “Dude, not cool,” he whispered.

“Really?” she asked, not the least bit amused. She already suspected most of them talked about her behind her back. She never thought John would do it too. “I’ll let you get back to it, then.”

She turned to phase back through the giant steel door. He looked confused, stumbling after her. Red put the big stone hand on John’s shoulder, pulling him back with a shake of his head. “Don’t, Myers.” They watched as she disappeared into the door, turning her head back just long enough to look at them both disapprovingly.

Myers looked up at Red. “What did I say?”
