“That’s good, Will. Now try to move it over to the table.”
She watched as the baseball hovered in the air, then slowly floated toward her. Beads of sweat broke out on Will’s forehead. So far, things were going well.
Barking broke the silence. Fuzzbutt ran across the room, Rufus chasing quickly behind. The dog lost his footing and went careening into Will, nearly knocking the boy over. Kitty cringed at the sound of broken glass.
“Oh, man! Mom’s gonna kill me!” Will lamented.
“It’s okay,” Kitty tried to soothe him. “Hopefully she didn’t even like that vase. And if she does notice… I’ll say I did it.”
