Characters: Kitty Pryde, Logan/Wolverine (X-Men) & John Myers (Hellboy)
Rating: PG
Setting: Bump in the Night!Verse
Prompt: #126 Paint - Drabble Table
Word Count: 198
Kitty studied the wall carefully while Logan and John stood behind her, waiting. John, by now, had learned to wait patiently. Logan was about to get his lesson.
She walked from one square of yellow paint to the next, pausing at each one. Logan didn’t really understand what the big deal was. Sure, it was a nursery, but it was still just a room. The kid wouldn’t even be able to see the walls for months anyway. Shouldn’t she be more worried about the ceiling?
At long last she turned around and looked at them – her husband and her oldest friend, the two who had painted for her because she couldn’t be around the fumes in her condition – and sighed.
“I don’t like any of them. Maybe we should try green. Or purple! I think I have purple swatches downstairs.” She walked out of the room, the men rolling their eyes behind her back. Then they looked at one another and chuckled.
Kitty heard their chuckles and smiled to herself. Her plan was working already. Three months and ten coats of paint later, she’d have the perfect yellow nursery – and Logan and John would be thick as thieves.
