Kitty paced nervous in her room while she waited for Peter to arrive. She could hear the football game on the tv in the living room, and the sounds of her foster father cheering along. She'd though about offering to help her foster mom, Carol, make dinner, but had realized that not only did she not know how to cook anything, but she was so nervous she was likely to drop anything she picked up.
"I've got it!" she shouted when the doorbell rang. Her heart was racing and her hands were shaking when she opened the door. She tried to smile, reminding herself he was probably even more nervous than she was.

"Don't suppose you play ball, do ya? I was quarterback of my team in high school. Made all state and got a full ride to college until I blew out my knee." He returned his attention to the television just as the Giants scored.

Peter cheered with Roger as the Giants scored.
What a perfect icon!
Date: 2010-12-01 11:55 pm (UTC)"Yeah, I thought ya looked a little fragile." Roger snorted. "Just teasin' ya, kid. If I'd had a son I mighta done the same thing, considering what happened to my knee and all."
Carol called for someone to come set the table, and Kitty jumped up. "Coming!"
I know, I love it.

He places the napkin across his lap and makes sure he doesn't put his elbows on the table top.

Date: 2010-12-17 01:24 am (UTC)"So young Mr. Petrelli, just what are your intentions with Kitty, besides screwing her?"
Kitty choked on her potatoes and gave him the glare of death. How could he corner Peter like that??

Date: 2010-12-17 03:35 pm (UTC)"Call me Peter, sir. I love your daughter and yes, it's more than sex with her." He beams over at Kitty. "You might think this is cheesy, but it's like she's the other part of my soul."

Date: 2010-12-19 05:41 pm (UTC)"That's very sweet, Peter, but you two are just children," Carol chimed in. "What about next year, when she's graduated, and you're still in school?"

Date: 2010-12-20 02:05 am (UTC)Peter turned to Carol. "Mrs. Anderson, we both know how old we are very careful at protecting ourselves with birth control. As for graduation, I have acquired enough credits to graduate with Kitty's class." He said matter-of-factly, then took a sip of his milk again.

Date: 2010-12-28 02:01 am (UTC)"Well Peter, no one expects you to stay around here just for Kitty. You should go to the best school you can." Carol spoke matter-of-factly, taking a sip of her wine.
Kitty stared at her plate and swallowed hard. Of course they didn't think she was worth staying in the city for. She fought to blink back tears and forced a forkful of potatoes in her mouth.

Date: 2011-01-05 01:43 am (UTC)Kitty snorted into her glass. The reality was that they couldn't afford to send her to college, and legally had no obligation to. They were only her foster parents. Once she turned 18, she was free of them. College wasn't an option unless she got a full scholarship.

"Even if she can't get one. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to keep us together."

Date: 2011-01-12 03:58 pm (UTC)"Looks like you've gotten lucky, Kitty. He has enough money to do whatever he wants. I just hope he keeps wanting you, otherwise you're screwed."
Kitty's jaw dropped open, and she slammed her fork down on her plate. Enough was enough.
"I would love Peter even if he was poor! And he's not going to get bored with me or abandon me. God, why is it so hard for you to believe I'm worthy of someone like him?" Her eyes welled up with tears as she stood and stormed off to her room, slamming the door behind her. She threw herself on the bed and buried her face in her pillow.

Date: 2011-01-16 01:49 am (UTC)"You have know idea how special that girl is." Looks up at him. "You are not worthy to call her even a foster daughter."
He stands, throwing down the napkin and followed her to her room. Peter knocked. "Kitty? Can I come in?"

Date: 2011-01-22 07:59 pm (UTC)Their form of abuse was much more subtle, but it cut just as deeply. She picked up her head and looked toward the door as Peter walked in.
"I'm sorry I blew up like that. I've ruined everything."
