Liz woke to the sound of pounding on her door. A glance at the clock said 2:30 a.m. “Hold on, hold on!” She stumbled out of bed and opened the door just enough to see Kitty standing outside it.

“Kitty? What the hell, do you know what time it is?” The girl’s face was flushed, and she seemed unsteady on her feet. Then Liz noticed the beer can in her hand.

“Shit, are you drunk?” She opened the door wider and pulled Kitty inside, closing the door behind them. Kitty spun around and stumbled, beer spilling out of the can onto Liz’s rug. “Where did you get the beer? You’re only 19!” 

Kitty grinned proudly. “I snuck into Red’s room and stole it out of his fridge. He sleeps like the dead, you know.”

Liz sighed and sat down on the bed. “Why would you do that?”

Kitty frowned.  “Fuck, Liz, I’m tired of everybody thinking I’m the good, sweet, nice, innocent one. I can be just as badass as you!” She gesticulated wildly with her arms, more beer spilling. Suddenly she turned an interesting shade of green. “I don’t feel so good.” Liz grabbed the beer from Kitty’s hand, and the girl ran for the bathroom. Liz shook her head and cursed under her breath.

“I’m not holding your hair for you!”
