Prompt: #1 Wish - Drabble Table
Word Count: 139
Kitty turned the penny over and over in her hand as she watched the water splash in front of her. She was standing at a beautiful multi-level fountain in the center of the mall. Oblivious to the sounds and people around her, she was lost in her own thoughts. Painful memories played over and over in her head as she tried to decide what to wish for.
The first thing she wanted was to have the Professor back. Then Scott, then Jean. But there was no point in wasting wishes on that – they were dead, a simple coin in a fountain wouldn’t change that.
Finally she fixed on something that might be possible. She closed her eyes and tossed the penny far into the fountain as she spoke the words in her head.
I wish Logan would forgive himself.
