Characters: Logan, Kitty Pryde-Myers and Samantha Myers
Rating: PG
Setting: Bump in the Night ‘Verse
Prompt: #5 Destroy - Drabble Table
Word Count: 200
The sound of her daughter crying made Kitty look up from her book. She sighed as she turned down the corner of the page she was on, then stood up, leaving the book in her chair on the porch, and descended the stairs into the back yard.
“What happened?” she asked.
“Hell if I know. Guess she was buildin’ something and I messed it up.” Logan looked up at Kitty from the sandbox, bewildered. These kids, man, they were hard to figure out.
Kitty knelt and wiped Sammy’s tears away with her hand. “Did Uncle Logan destroy your sand castle?” Sammy nodded, bottom lip stuck out so far it could have caught falling raindrops if it had been raining.
“Sorry, kid.” Logan said, reaching to pat her on the leg. Sammy saw her chance. She dug her shovel deep down in the sand, then dumped it all on Logan’s hand. Sadness forgotten, she squealed with glee.
“Bury ‘Ogun! Hand go bye-bye!” Sammy dug and dug and heaped and heaped sand on top, giggling gleefully.
Kitty laughed as Logan’s hands disappeared under a large pile of sand. “Hey, it could be worse. She dumped a whole bucket on John’s head yesterday.”
